Meet the Team

Brooke Fassnacht
Owner and Swim Instructor
Originally from Ladoga, Indiana, Brooke has been in the Lafayette community since 2009. She is a Purdue alumnus, holding both bachelor’s and master's degrees in biology. Brooke is trained in American Red Cross Certifications and is a USA Swimming Stroke and Turn Official.

Brooke is Mom to 2-kids, a former La Leche League Leader, and quintessential classroom volunteer. She’s experienced in teaching swimming and water safety to all ages and has been doing so in the Lafayette community for more than 10-years. In 2022, she made it official and opened Swim Lessons of Greater Lafayette. Brooke loves teaching children, but is particularly passionate about teaching Moms, whom she knows from experience always put themselves last. She loves being on the journey with them to learn more and fully participate in their kids’ water adventures.

Brooke teaches private, semi-private, and small group lessons by appointment.
Connie
Swim Instructor
Connie has always loved swimming and started swimming competitively at age 9. She swam on her high school swim team and taught lessons to all ages during this time.
​
Connie is a Purdue alumnus and has been a child care provider, specializing in infant care, for over 30-years.
​
Connie loves reading, fishing, camping and watching Purdue basketball and football.
​
Connie teaches the Parent/Child classes on Saturday mornings and may pick up some private clients as she grows in her role.

Maris
Junior Swim Instructor
Maris is a junior swim instructor at SLGL! She is a junior in high school and is gaining experience as a swim teacher. Maris found an early interest in the sport joining both Sugar Creek Swim Club and Boiler Aquatics Swim Club at the young age of 8 years old. Now, she competes on a national level, holds many records, and recently set a pool record for backstroke at The Lucas Oil Pool during the Olympic Trials.
